1. Passengers must have a COVID-19 recovery or vaccination certificate.
- This does not apply to:
- passengers younger than 12 years;
- nationals of Ukraine.
Recovery certificate:
- it must be issued at least 11 days after a positive COVID-19 NAAT test result taken at most 180 days before arrival.
Vaccination certificate:
(i) it must show that passengers were fully vaccinated at least 14 days and at most 270 days before arrival or that they were fully vaccinated and received a booster dose.
Accepted vaccines:
(a) AstraZeneca (SK Bioscience), AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria), Covaxin, Covishield, Covovax, Janssen, Moderna (Spikevax), Nuvaxovid (Novavax), Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty), Sinopharm and Sinovac.
(b) Other vaccines are accepted if the last dose received is one of the vaccines listed above.
(ii) Passengers without an EU Digital COVID Certificate or equivalent must upload the COVID-19 recovery or vaccination certificate at https://www.spth.gob.es/ . This will generate a QR code which must be presented before boarding and upon arrival.
2. The following passengers who do not have a COVID-19 recovery or vaccination certificate, can travel with a COVID-19 test specified below:
- passengers arriving from Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland (Rep.), Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden or Switzerland;
- nationals and residents of Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland (Rep.), Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland or Vatican City (Holy See);
- passengers residing in Bahrain, Chile, China (People\'s Rep.), Chinese Taipei, Colombia, Hong Kong (SAR China), Indonesia, Korea (Rep.), Kuwait, Macao (SAR China), New Zealand, Peru, Qatar, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Uruguay, and arriving from the country they reside in;
- passengers with a "D" visa issued by a Schengen Member State, returning via Spain to their country of residence;
- immediate family members of a national of an EU Member State traveling together or traveling to join the national of an EU Member State;
- passengers who are unmarried partners of nationals of Spain with a confirmation of their relationship, issued by a consulate of Spain;
- passengers studying in Austria, Belgium, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden or Switzerland. They must have medical insurance and be traveling to the country where they study at most 15 days before the start of the study;
- passengers with a diplomatic passport traveling on duty;
- military personnel.
COVID-19 test:
(i) A negative COVID-19 rapid antigen test taken at most 24 hours before departure; or
(ii) A negative COVID-19 CRISPR, HAD, LAMP, NEAR, PCR, RT-LAMP, RT-PCR, SDA or TMA test taken at most 72 hours before departure. The test must be in English, French, German, Spanish or accompanied by a certified Spanish translation.
Information in item 2 does not apply to:
- passengers younger than 12 years;
- nationals of Ukraine.
3. The following applies to passengers between 12 and 17 years old:
(i) If they do not have a COVID-19 recovery or vaccination certificate listed in item 1 above, or do not belong to the type of passengers listed in item 2, they can travel with a negative COVID-19 test taken at most 72 hours before departure. Accepted tests: CRISPR, HAD, LAMP, NEAR, PCR, RT-LAMP, RT-PCR, SDA or TMA. The test must be in English, French, German, Spanish or accompanied by a certified Spanish translation.
(ii) Passengers without an EU Digital COVID Certificate or equivalent must upload the COVID-19 recovery or vaccination certificate at https://www.spth.gob.es/ . This will generate a QR code which must be presented before boarding and upon arrival.
- This does not apply to nationals of Ukraine.
4. Passengers are subject to medical screening upon arrival.

Exercise increased caution in Spain due to terrorism and civil unrest.
Country Summary: Terrorist groups continue plotting possible attacks in Spain.
