New Zealand Travel requirements, advice , Coronavirus status and Visa Policy

1. The following passengers are allowed to enter:
- nationals of New Zealand;
- permanent residents of New Zealand;
- partner or dependent child of a national or a permanent resident of New Zealand. Their visa must be based on the relationship;
- nationals and permanent residents of Australia;
- passengers with a New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA);
- passengers with a visitor visa issued by New Zealand;
- passengers with a Resident Visa applied for on or before 30 November 2021. They must be arriving in New Zealand for the first time as the holder of that visa;
- passengers with a Resident Visa applied for on or after 1 December 2021 and issued under the 2021 Resident Visa Category;
- passengers who have a visa and have been granted an exemption before departure; details can be found at https://www.immigration.govt.nz/formshelp/request-for-travel-to-new-zealand ;
- passengers arriving from Cook Isl. or Niue if they in the past 14 days have only been in Cook Isl., New Zealand or Niue;
- nationals of Ukraine with a visa issued by New Zealand.
2. Transiting through New Zealand is only allowed at Auckland (AKL) for a maximum of 24 hours.
3. Passengers are not allowed to transit through New Zealand to China (People\'s Rep.).
- This does not apply to nationals of China (People\'s Rep.) arriving from Cook Isl., Fiji, Niue, Samoa, Tonga or Vanuatu.
4. Passengers entering or transiting through New Zealand must complete a health declaration before departure at https://www.travellerdeclaration.govt.nz/ . This will generate a Travel Pass which must be presented at check-in.
5. Passengers and airline crew entering or transiting through New Zealand must have a COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing that they were fully vaccinated with AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria), Covaxin, Covishield, Covovax, Janssen, Moderna (Spikevax), Nuvaxovid (Novavax), Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty), Sinopharm (BIBP) or Sinovac. Other vaccines are also accepted if combined with one dose of AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria), Covishield, Janssen, Moderna (Spikevax) or Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty). - This does not apply to:
- nationals and residents of New Zealand;
- passengers younger than 17 years;
- passengers who are members of the New Zealand Defence Force with operating orders;
- nationals of Afghanistan arriving in New Zealand on or before 12 December 2022;
- refugees with a visa issued by New Zealand;
- passengers who are or were residing in Ukraine on or after 1 January 2022, or who are using a visa under the 2022 Special Ukraine Visa Policy for the first time.
6. Passengers must have:
- a negative COVID-19 PCR or RT-PCR test taken at most 48 hours before departure from the first international embarkation point; or
- a negative COVID-19 antigen or LAMP test taken at most 24 hours before departure from the first international embarkation point.
- This does not apply to:
- passengers arriving from Antarctica, Cook Isl., Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Isl., Micronesia (Federated States), Nauru, Niue, Palau, Samoa, Samoa (American), Solomon Isl., Tonga, Tuvalu or Vanuatu;
- passengers younger than 2 years;
- passengers with a medical certificate issued at most 48 hours before departure from the first embarkation point specifying that the passenger previously tested positive and is no longer contagious;
- passengers who are or were residing in Ukraine on or after 1 January 2022, or who are using a visa under the 2022 Special Ukraine Visa Policy for the first time.
7. Passengers are subject to a COVID-19 test upon arrival.
8. Passengers could be subject to medical screening and quarantine for 7 days.
9. Airline crew not residing in Australia or New Zealand must have:
- a negative COVID-19 test result. Tests accepted are: antigen, LAMP, NAAT, PCR, RT-PCR and TMA tests. The test must have been taken at most 7 days before arrival; or
- a medical certificate specifying that they do not have COVID-19 symptoms and are not contagious, if they were tested positive at most 7 days before arrival.
