Indonesia Travel requirements, advice , Coronavirus status and Visa Policy

1. The following passengers are allowed to enter:
- nationals of Indonesia;
- passengers travelling as tourists;
- passengers with a Temporary Stay Permit (ITAS) or Permanent Stay Permit (ITAP);
- passengers with a diplomatic or service visa;
- passengers with a diplomatic or service stay permit;
- passengers with an e-visit visa with a visa number ending with LN;
- passengers with an APEC Business Travel Card;
- passengers traveling under the Travel Corridor Arrangement (TCA);
- participants of the G20 event with a diplomatic assignment letter issued by their government and invitation letter from the Ministry of Indonesia.
2. Passengers are not allowed to transit.
3. Passengers must have a COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing that they were fully vaccinated at least 14 days before departure. The certificate must be issued in both English and a local language of the country where passengers were vaccinated.
- This does not apply to:
- nationals of Indonesia;
- passengers younger than 18 years;
- This does not apply to passengers with a COVID-19 recovery certificate stating that they are no longer contagious. They must have tested positive at most 30 days before departure.
- passengers with a diplomatic or service visa and an invitation letter issued by an Indonesian Ministry under the Travel Corridor Arrangement (TCA).
4. Passengers without a COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing that they were fully vaccinated at least 14 days before departure are subject to quarantine for 5 days. The certificate must be issued in both English and a local language of the country where passengers were vaccinated.
- This does not apply to:
- passengers younger than 18 years accompanied by their fully vaccinated parents or guardians;
5. Airline crew must have a COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing that they were fully vaccinated at least 14 days before departure. The certificate must be issued in both English and a local language of the country where the airline crew was vaccinated.
- This does not apply to airline crew transiting without disembarking the aircraft.
6. Passengers travelling as tourists must have medical insurance for COVID-19 treatment.
7. Passengers could be subject to a COVID-19 PCR test upon arrival.
8. Passengers must download the "Pedulilindungi" mobile app before departure.
9. Airline crew with a crew ID card are visa exempt if they are listed in the General Declaration and wearing uniform.
10. Deadhead crew will be given an entry stamp. They must:
- have a valid crew ID card or crew member certificate;
- provide written notification to Immigration Officer proving they will be on duty on the return flight. The notification must be received by Immigration Officer minimum 24 hours from arrival.
11. Suspension of all visa exemptions and visa on arrival facilities.
- This does not apply to:
- passengers with a British diplomatic passport and nationals of Argentina, Brazil, China (People\'s Rep.), France, India, Italy, Japan, Korea (Rep.), Mexico, Russian Fed., South Africa and Turkey with a diplomatic or service passport participating in the G20 event who are visa exempt;
- certain nationals with a diplomatic, official or service passport who are visa exempt;
- nationals of Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Lao People\'s Dem Rep., Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Viet Nam with a normal passport traveling as tourists who are visa exempt;
- nationals of Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Brunei Darussalam, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Canada, China (People\'s Rep.), Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Ireland (Rep.), Italy, Japan, Korea (Rep.), Lao People\'s Dem. Rep., Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Myanmar, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Seychelles, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Tunisia, Turkey, USA, United Arab Emirates, Viet Nam, British nationals, passengers with a Chinese Taipei (on the cover: Republic of China Taiwan) passport, passengers with a Hong Kong (SAR China) passport, traveling as tourists who can obtain a visa on arrival.

Exercise increased caution in Indonesia due to terrorism and natural disasters. Some areas have increased risk. Read the entire Travel Advisory.
Do Not travel to:
- The provinces of Central Papua (Papua Tengah) and Highland Papua (Papua Pegunungan) due to civil unrest.
Terrorists continue plotting possible attacks in Indonesia. Terrorists may attack with little or no warning, targeting police stations, places of worship, hotels, bars, nightclubs, markets/shopping malls, and restaurants.
Natural disasters such as earthquakes, tsunamis or volcanic eruptions may result in disruptions to transportation, infrastructure, sanitation, and the availability of health services.
Demonstrations occur frequently and have the potential to become violent. Avoid demonstrations and crowds.
Indonesia’s revised criminal code, which takes effect January 2026, includes penalties for defamation, blasphemy, cohabitation, and sex outside of marriage. It is unclear how Indonesian authorities will implement the revised criminal code.

Central Papua and Highland Papua– Level 4: Do Not Travel
In Central Papua and Highland Papua, violent demonstrations and conflict could result in injury or death to U.S. citizens. Avoid demonstrations and crowds. Armed separatists may kidnap foreign nationals.
The U.S. government has limited ability to provide emergency services to U.S. citizens in Central Papua and Highland Papua as U.S. government employees must obtain special authorization before traveling to those areas.
