Chile Travel requirements, advice , Coronavirus status and Visa Policy

1. Passengers must arrive at Antofagasta (ANF), Iquique (IQQ), Punta Arenas (PUQ) or Santiago (SCL).
- This does not apply to:
- nationals and residents of Chile;
- passengers with a diplomatic passport.
2. Passengers and airline crew must complete an "Affidavit for Travellers to Prevent Coronavirus Diseases (COVID-19) (Declaracion Jurada)" at most 48 hours before boarding at www.c19.cl . They will receive a confirmation email with a QR code to be presented upon arrival.
- This does not apply to airline crew and merchant seamen with:
- a COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing that they were fully vaccinated and received a booster dose at most 6 months before arrival; or
- a negative COVID-19 antigen or RT-PCR test taken at least every 7 days.
3. Passengers must have travel insurance to cover COVID-19 expenses, with a minimum coverage of USD 30,000.
This does not apply to:
- nationals and residents of Chile;
- nationals of Spain with an E-CHL/09 and E-CH/11 form.
4. Passengers could be subject to a COVID-19 PCR test upon arrival .

Exercise increased caution in Chile due to crime and civil unrest.
Country Summary: Street crime (e.g., muggings, pick-pocketing, theft) is common in Chile. Rates of violent crime, such as assaults, homicide, carjackings, and residential break-ins, are increasing.
Large-scale demonstrations periodically occur in Santiago and other cities in Chile. Demonstrations can take place with little or no notice, and often result in disruptions to transportation, including public bus and Santiago metro services.

If you decide to travel to Chile:
- Do not leave luggage unattended, even in locked vehicles.
- Always carry a copy of your U.S. passport and visa (if applicable). Keep original documents in a secure location.
- Avoid demonstrations.
- Follow the instructions of local authorities including movement restrictions and obey all curfews.
- Find a safe location and shelter in place if in the vicinity of large gatherings or protests.
